About this event

We are delighted to announce that our second Network Meeting this year will take place on Monday 23 November at 4pm.

We have a new format for the meeting as follows:

Keynote from Simon Singh - "Promoting Excellence in Maths".

Best selling author Simon Singh has written books about maths and made radio and TV Programmes that have explored some of maths most notorious problems; from the BAFTA winning documentary 'Fermat's Last Theorem' to the six part Channel 4 series 'The Science of Secrecy'. As well as discussing his efforts to popularise mathematics, Simon will outline two free initiatives that can help stretch good students and put them on the path to excellence. Both initiatives are online and are idea for operating during the current difficult circumstance.

Followed by an opportunity for everyone to share adaptations in the current Maths classroom in small group discussions.

Please bring an idea from your own school to contribute in a small group discussion in Breakout rooms.

Followed by the usual discussions, any other ideas and questions.

Once registered, we will be in touch with details of how to access the online meeting via Zoom.  The meeting starts at 4.00pm and we anticipate it will last up to an hour.
